Andy Serkis got candid about Snoke’s shocking Star Wars fate in The Last Jedi.
During an interview with GQ, Serkis spoke on his role as Kino Loy in Tony Gilroy’s Rogue One Disney+ spinoff, Andor. The actor praised the series’ tone, but eventually, the conversation shifted to his previous work in the Star Wars universe as Snoke in the sequel trilogy. While the character seemed to be set up as the main villain pulling the strings in 2015’s The Force Awakens, he was killed off fairly early on in The Last Jedi, and Serkis seemed surprised by the outcome. The actor said, “Let me just phrase it like this. When I went in to read The Last Jedi, [I spent] the first 30 pages thinking, ‘This is the most incredible character.’ Then I turned the page: ‘And then Snoke gets sliced in half.’ And I was gutted.
