Plots: Aboard a British train, mysterious fortune teller Dr. Schreck uses tarot cards to read the futures of five fellow passengers. Five strangers board a train and are joined by a mysterious fortune teller who offers to read their Tarot cards. Five separate stories unfold: An architect returns to his ancestral home to find a werewolf out for revenge; a doctor suspects his new wife is a vampire; an intelligent vine takes over a house; a jazz musician plagiarizes music from a voodoo ceremony; a pompous art critic is pursued by a disembodied hand.

Goofs: Continuity In 'Creeping Vine' during the showing films of types of plants in the office, you see Alan Freeman next to the projector with the white end of the roll of the film about to spool through; the camera cuts away and then the camera is back on the projector with the feeder reel full of film again.. Continuity In the first story, Jim Dawson is dressed in a green top whilst working in the cellar. in the next scene he is filmed undressing for bed but is wearing a collared shirt and tie.(Assuming Dawson did not work straight through to bedtime he would have undoubtedly washed himself and changed to a clean shirt and tie before mealtime.) Factual errors Contrary to what is implied, in Tarotmancy the thirteenth card showing Death is generally interpreted to indicate a positive change.

Dawson : Schreck? That's a German word isn't it? Means fear or horror.

Dr. Schreck : A more exact translation would be terror. An unfortunate misnomer for I am the mildest of men.

Hopkins : There's one thing that every intelligent thing is afraid of - fire! If a species ever develops that isn't, it could be the end of the world.

Hopkins : Plant like that... could take over the world.
